The actor, however, refused to work alongside Zack Snyder when he was originally fan-cast in the role of Green Lantern during Snyder’s DCEU. Letting bygones be bygones, Charlie Hunnam is joining Zack Snyder for one of the most noble causes out there!
Charlie Hunnam And Zack Snyder Talk Away The Dark
Zack Snyder, the veteran director with a plethora of movies to his name, has done several good deeds in his life that deserve recognition. A recent report states that the director is joining the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for a roundtable discussion.

With the hashtag #TalkAwayTheDark, Snyder invited people to open up and talk about their stories that may have caused them depression or suicidal tendencies. Being a great initiative, the world is complementing and thanking Snyder for being an avid supporter of mental health and its effects.
More good news followed as the 300 director took to his X account (formerly Twitter) to talk about notable actor Charlie Hunnam. The tweet revealed that Hunnam will also be joining Snyder for the Talk Away the Dark Roundtable Discussion!

Veteran director Zack Snyder also has a personal reason for taking part in these discussions since he saw someone whom he cared deeply for, die via suicide. Back in 2017 when the director was busy making Justice League, his daughter Autumn Snyder committed suicide.
Taking a break from Hollywood, Snyder spent time with his family after which he returned to create Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Ever since that moment, he has given special attention to mental health and has been a part of these conversations.
Charlie Hunnam Once Refused Zack Snyder’s DCEU!
Before joining hands for the Rebel Moon franchise, Hunnam was originally fan-cast as the character of Green Lantern. Since the DCEU was in terrible need of that superhero, fans had hope that Snyder would consider Hunnam for the role.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, the King Arthur: Legend of the Sword actor was asked about his interest in portraying the Green Lantern role. Although the world wanted him to be Hal Jordan, Charlie Hunnam had some terrible news for the fans.
The actor stated that he never talked to Snyder about portraying the role of Green Lantern. However, Hunnam further continued that he did not even like the role himself when he saw an image of the character in one of the DC comics!
I honestly don’t remember who yeah. It was some people in suits, brought the idea to me and thought that would be terribly exciting for me to play Green Arrow. And I did not share their enthusiasm.
He further continued,
I don’t know who Green Arrow is. So, I don’t want to offend anyone. I just looked at one picture, and I was like, I’m not sure green’s my color. And I am pretty sure spandex isn’t my material. And beyond that, I was like, one image, thanks.
After Snyder left DCEU, Charlie Hunnam joined the Rebel Moon franchise in the role of Kai. The Talk Away The Dark campaign by AFSP is one step forward for breaking the mental health stereotype, of which Zack Snyder and Hunnam are proud members!
