Jamie Foxx Felt He Must Use Calf Prosthetics To Transform into Mike Tyson

For quite some time Jamie Foxx was following a strict diet and exercise plan to play the role of the legendary world heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson or Iron Mike. The actor faced the challenge head-on and decided to have the chiseled figure of the legendary figure for himself so that he could bring the character to life.

Foxx shared the transformation pictures on his Instagram, confirming that the long-awaited biopic of the boxer has made some progress after years of planning. He wrote a post sharing his thoughts and how “the first but biggest task is to transform the body,” for the biopic. During an Instagram Live interview with Mark Birnbaum via Esquire, Foxx shared his exercise routine and how his exercise focuses on building strength through bodyweight exercises.

“What I’m doing right now is changing the body. Now what I do every other day, I do 60 pullups, we do 60 dips, we do 100 pushups, changing the body.”

However, like every gym rat, Jamie Foxx also disliked leg day, and he jokingly shared how he can not grow his calves and that he may need to use prosthetics for them.

“I ain’t got no calf muscles, so we might have to get some prosthetics for that.”

While Jamie Foxx has been ardently working to transform his physique, the situation for the actor to play the role of the legendary boxer looks uncertain as he was hospitalized after suffering from an undisclosed medical complication, and Mike Tyson discusses the possibility of the actor playing his role in the film.

Mike Tyson Comments on The Possibility of Jamie Foxx Playing His Role

Jamie Foxx had been preparing himself to play Mike Tyson in his biopic for quite some time. The biopic has been in the works since 2015, and the actor was supposed the play the role of Iron Mike from his youth through to the present day, he has been working on the role and has teased how convincing his role would be. However, after falling gravely ill, things remain uncertain and even Mike Tyson has admitted that he is unsure of “what’s going to happen” in the aftermath of his issues when he was a guest on the PBD podcast.

“Well, it was a possibility. I don’t know what’s going to happen now. But, you know, it’s a strong possibility. Because, you know, Jamie’s closer to my age, so in order to do him, they were going to do what they did with [the movie] Benjamin Button. They were going to make him look younger.”

The biopic of the boxer has been in the works for eight years, but the recent medical complication of the actor would surely lead to an unspecified period of delay in the biopic and fans of the actor and the legendary boxing figure have to wait until there are further announcements.
