Talk show host and actress Ellen DeGeneres has managed to befriend some of the greatest Hollywood icons. She has often enjoyed her warm friendships with celebrities and her colleagues. But one individual who made DeGeneres regret their friendship was Jamie Foxx.
Well, not in a serious way, but Jamie Foxx almost made Ellen DeGeneres regret her friendship with him. Discussing the time when DeGeneres and her wife Portia went to visit Foxx, who was their neighbor, the host noted how they were left stranded on the actor’s driveway.
Ellen DeGeneres Recalled her Attempt to Visit Jamie Foxx
Hosting her now-canceled talk show The Ellen Show, Ellen DeGeneres welcomed Jamie Foxx to pay a visit. Discussing how the two were neighbors, the host recalled the time when she and her wife Portia wanted to visit the actor. Being friends with Foxx, DeGeneres thought it would be great to visit his house.
“Portia and I, as we’ve said before, we’re neighbors with Jamie, and I thought we lived closer than we do. Portia and I decided to ride our bikes to Jamie’s house.”
Unfortunately, Jamie Foxx had a steep driveway he already informed Ellen DeGeneres and her wife about. But, since the couple had recently bought their bikes and wanted to try cycling, DeGeneres and Portia went to Foxx’s house on their bikes. And quite obviously faced a major uphill struggle on the steep driveway.
“Yeah, and I told her ‘you sure you wanna do that?’ and she went, ‘yeah no I’m fine, I’ll be fine Jamie’. And I said, ‘alright cool’ and then I said well my driveway is a little steep. And she said, ‘I’ll be great, we ride all the time. We’re used to riding, we’ll ride on up’”.
Revealing how Ellen DeGeneres and her wife didn’t heed his warnings, Jamie Foxx mentioned leaving it up to them and waiting at his house for the couple.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia Were Left Stranded by Jamie Foxx
Quite obviously, as Jamie Foxx had expected things to turn out, it happened exactly that way. Warning Ellen DeGeneres and Portia about his steep driveway, Foxx tried being a good friend, but since the couple wanted to cycle all the way uphill, Foxx didn’t intervene. Eventually, DeGeneres and her wife were left stranded on the driveway.
“I’m sitting there waiting, man, it’s been a while. And I get a call, ‘Jamie (panting) could you come get us? We’re lost in the thicket.” Foxx shared.
Witnessing Jamie Foxx’s steep driveway from up front, Ellen DeGeneres mentioned leaving all hope and simply waiting for help. Calling the actor to come get her and Portia, DeGeneres mentioned how they didn’t even try to ride their bikes uphill.
“We made it inside the gates, and then the driveway is so steep, we just threw our bikes. We didn’t even care, we’ll buy new bikes, we just threw them away and we were like ‘can you please come get us?’ We didn’t even walk. It was that steep.”
Jamie Foxx’s steep driveway somehow made Ellen DeGeneres rethink her friendship with the actor and her decision to visit his house. Left stranded by the side of the road, the talk show host almost regretted her decision and waited for help.
