The inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix was a star-studded event. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen registered a sensational victory in the phenomenal race. While many stars were present in the stands, Jared Leto’s appearance certainly surprised many fans.
Sure, the opening ceremony of a grand motorsport event is always expected to feature elite performances from celebrities. No one expected Jared Leto and his brother, Shannon Leto, to be among the performers, But that wasn’t the weirdest appearance of Jared Leto regarding the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Jared Leto Gets Roasted by Fans For His Rendition of Elvis Presley’s Legendary Song
Jared Leto is usually known for being a Hollywood actor. However, in 1998, Leto formed the band Thirty Seconds to Mars. Leto has fulfilled the role of the lead vocalist and guitarist for years now.
In fact, the Leto brothers performed two songs of their band on November 15, 2023. The brothers also wore matching racing costumes during their performance. But that wasn’t the weirdest part for fans.
Instead, it was Jared Leto reading Elvis Presley’s Viva Las Vegas in spoken word poem format from his house during the Las Vegas Grand Prix’s pre-show, airing on Sky Sports. We wish we were kidding, but that’s the truth.
Keeping that in mind, many fans on Twitter were extremely furious with the awkward decision made by Sky Sports. As you would have guessed, they didn’t stay quiet about it either.

Jared Leto has often been criticized for his ‘out of the world’ thinking by fans. Be it on social media or face-to-face, disgruntled fans never hold back when calling out Leto for something they hate.
By the way, here is the video of Jared Leto narrating the lyrics of Elvis Presley’s Viva Las Vegas in spoken word poem format for reference.
If this isn’t weird, we don’t know what is. It led to several fans losing interest in the actual event, i.e., the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix. Fortunately, Max Verstappen’s phenomenal performance brought back most fans.
What is Jared Leto Doing Now?
Jared Leto has a career as an actor and musician spanning over three decades. While there have been movies where he has nailed the role, there are some projects even Leto would wish he never did.
At the end of the day, Leto is an accomplished actor and musician. After all, he has an Academy and Golden Globe award to his name. As for Leto’s next projects, the most notable film that the 51-year-old will star in is Tron: Ares.
As the name suggests, it will be a sequel to the 2010 movie Tron: Legacy. Considering the first movie was excellent, fans will have huge expectations from the sequel. Can Leto live up to those expectations? Only time will tell.
