Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to host the annual Invictus Games held in Düsseldorf, Germany. The Invictus Games was founded by Prince Harry to honor wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women in an international Olympics-like event. The Duke of Sussex drew inspiration from the Warrior Games conducted by the US Department of Defense.
Amidst split rumors, the couple earlier posted a video announcing the winners of their new safer technology grant. Markle who has encountered her share of controversies in the past, is now accused of making some crazy demands for the Invictus Games.
Meghan Markle Has Some High-End Demands For Invictus Games
Meghan Markle was first spotted together with Prince Harry at the 2017 Invictus Games. In the 2023 games, the Duchess of Sussex will be hosting a segment celebrating the bravery and resilience of the participants as well as servicemen and women across the world. The segment named ‘Lifestories scene’ is scheduled for the closing ceremony in September.
However, some of the demands made by the Suits actress have gained media attention. According to a report published in the Heat News, Markle wants Jennifer Lopez and Cher to perform at the events. She also placed preferences for her food, clothing, and even ambient temperature. The report states:
“Meghan has some demands for this visit – and some of them would be up there with the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Cher. Her meals and snacks have all been planned out and are very specific. She also has requests for a certain air temperature, particular linens, and décor for the hotel, and needs chauffeur-driven limos everywhere.”
Prince Harry is poised to deliver the farewell address during the closing ceremony which will be held on September 16. Over the past few months, the couple has been facing heat from the media and the public, and recently their Spotify deal fell through causing the couple to lose millions.
Meghan Markle’s Invictus Appearance Comes Amidst Rumors Of Split
Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in 2018 after meeting him in 2016. In 2020, Markle and Prince Harry stepped down from active royal duties to working royals. Their public image has witnessed a nosedive following the release of the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan and Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare.
Rumors of a split sparked when the couple announced their decision to temporarily shift focus from joint endeavors to individual projects. However, sources close to the couple affirm that their marriage is fine and there is no trouble in paradise.
The royal couple’s Invictus appearance will shut down some of the rumors. Prince Harry claims this year’s Invictus Games to be the best ever. Prince Harry is also set to release a Netflix documentary on the Invictus Games, Heart of Invictus, which is scheduled to stream on August 30.
