And now after candidly refusing to star as Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (via X), the actor is all set to follow the likes of Denzel Washington by starring in his The Book of Eli prequel TV series. Although the details about the series haven’t been revealed yet, it is expected to be set at least 30 years before the incidents of the 2010 film. Since the film was set about 30 years after a catastrophic nuclear event that completely left humanity on the verge of ruins and destruction, Bpoyega’s series might tackle the nuclear disaster and how it came about.

While the series will also be produced by Alcon Entertainment, the studio behind the film, details regarding the cast, production, release, and streaming platform are yet to be announced.

John Boyega is a wonderful actor, even somewhat resembles Denzel Washington, and can more than aptly spearhead such a crucial project. Furthermore, other fans believe the movie on its own is a masterpiece and does not deserve to be remade, rebooted, or have a prequel or sequel. While others think other better actors could have led the project. And so as soon as the news of Boyega’s casting and the TV series went viral, here is how the majority of fans reacted on the internet:
