The world was tremendously shocked after John Cena announced on Twitter that he now owns an OnlyFans account until they realized it was a marketing stunt for his upcoming movie with Zac Efron and Jermaine Fowler, Ricky Stanicky.
The R-rated comedy made for Prime Video is helmed by Oscar-winning director Peter Farrelly, which also marks his return to the genre. While many were amused with the actor’s trick, some speculated that there was a hidden agenda behind the creation of the said account.
John Cena Announced An OnlyFans Account For His Upcoming Comedy Film
On Twitter, wrestler-turned-actor John Cena revealed that he is now on OnlyFans and even teased fans with the caption: “…like you’ve never seen me before. Subscribe at the link in bio.” The link would actually take users to the OnlyFans page of Ricky Stanicky.
Cena is working on a new project for Prime Video together with Zac Efron, Jermaine Fowler, and filmmaker Peter Farrelly. He will be portraying the said character in the upcoming movie, whose bio reads:
“You’ve found the verified OnlyFans account for Ricky Stanicky; renowned impersonator, philanthropist, investment banker, socialite, cancer survivor, and method actor. Subscribe to get SPICY pics and vids!”
Cena also wrote suggestive posts on the page such as: “How deep can it go?” and “Anyone want to hit this one more time?” Clearly, the actor is working double time to promote his film.
The movie follows three childhood buddies who created an imaginary friend called Ricky Stanicky to help them get out of every sticky situation. Years later, they decided to hire a real yet struggling actor to play the fake friend when their partners became suspicious. Director Peter Farrelly previously told Deadline:
“This has been a dream project of mine for many years but to end up with a cast this crazy good makes the wait more than worthwhile.”
Ricky Stanicky is Cena’s first major project after starring in Henry Cavill’s Argylle. He is no stranger to comedy films as he previously worked on a number of similar projects, such as 2015’s Trainwreck and Sisters.

While there is no ruling out that anything would come out of Ricky Stanicky’s account, some fans are wishing for leaks and surprisingly, a lot of people have been sending DMs to certain accounts requesting Cena’s photos.
Others also accused the actor of taking all desperate measures to promote his upcoming movie, but as far as fans can see, the marketing strategy is working so well. It certainly arrested everyone’s attention and it’s only a matter of days from now before Ricky Stanicky premieres this March 7, 2024 on Prime Video.
