John Cena‘s recent appearance on Logan Paul‘s Impaulsive podcast helped fans to get to know the WWE wrestler and actor a little bit better. At the start of the interview, Paul couldn’t contain his curiosity and asked Cena about his Instagram posts, famously known for their cryptic nature. Cena simply directed Paul’s attention to his bio description, where it was clearly mentioned that the followers were encouraged to interpret the posts according to their liking and enjoy them.

However, Paul was insistent on getting inside Cena’s thought process while posting these images. He asked Cena to explain one of his posts, which was a photo of Benjamin Franklin. The Peacemaker star budged and explained that he was reading Charles Munger’s Poor Charlie’s Almanack, where Munger admired Benjamin Franklin’s study on compounding interest. He felt that the topic of ‘how to use money’ was not taught enough in the country.

Cena revealed that he got this guidance from the Founding Father via Munger and hence posted his photo. He further explained two more photos, but more importantly, he explained why he chose to post on his Instagram in this manner. The Suicide Squad actor revealed that when Instagram was launched, he was obligated to post on the platform as a WWE star. However, he took it upon himself to do something different with the platform.

Cena didn’t want to post a photo of himself, explaining the context in the caption. The Bumblebee actor felt that social media already had everything presented to people, who mindlessly scrolled through these posts. He wanted his followers to stop and think when they came across his posts. He added that people may get an insight into his life or get a look into their own lives by interpreting the images. Cena explained on the Impaulsive podcast:

“It has become like art. I think there’s not enough vehicle for interpretation nowadays. Everything is presented and thoroughly explained. I want people to think for themselves and I’ve dropped some serious Clues and spoilers on there. But if you’re not looking for it you don’t know. And I don’t care if you know because that’s not the point. The point is if you come there as a forum, you can check out the images. You can get a look into my life or maybe you can get a look into your own life.”

Logan Paul was impressed by this enlightening revelation. He called Cena’s explanation a “beautiful rendition.” Interestingly, Cena’s post that day was a Puerto Rican flag, symbolizing his arrival on the Caribbean island for the podcast interview with Paul.

When asked if there was anything he hated about social media, John Cena explained that he believed in setting boundaries for himself and doing what’s more important with his time. He revealed that he curated his social media presence with two main objectives. Firstly, he wanted to be efficient with his time spent on screen, and secondly, he wanted to provide valuable content for those who genuinely paid attention.

Cena revealed that when considering joining a new platform, the first factor he considered was the amount of time he needed to spend. Cena advised his fans, cautioning against using the platforms to the point where they make life miserable. The Hidden Strike actor shared that his usage of social media doesn’t make his life miserable. He shared:

“I was able to receive so much worth and wealth from that and I’m grateful. I’d much rather be doing that than scanning to see what the world is about. I think social media is great if if it doesn’t make your life miserable. If something makes your life miserable and you continue to do it, man, I don’t know what to tell you.”
