John Krasinski can still Return as Reed Richards Even After Pedro Pascal's Casting in Fantastic Four: MCU Fan Theory

SUMMARY

  • John Krasinski had the shortest run as Reed Richards out of the three actors who have played the character so far.
  • The MCU could bring the character back by allowing Kitty Pryde on Earth 838 to use her powers like she did in 'X-Men" Days of Future Past', to warn the Illuminati.
  • Krasinski's Reed Richards could see the character bring the might of his Earth to hunt Wanda across the multiverse.

John Krasinski played Reed Richards in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, appearing as a member of the Illuminati on Earth 838. Krasinski was cast in the role by a slew of fans, who wanted to see the actor/director play the role of Mister Fantastic while casting his real-life wife Emily Blunt as Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman.

Krasinski’s version of the character served as the third iteration of the First Family patriarch, behind Ioan Gruffudd, who played the character in Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer, and Miles Teller, who played the character in Fantastic Four (2015) Krasinski’s run as the character was the shortest of the three, being killed off mere minutes after his introduction, along with other members of his team by Wanda Maximoff.

However, it must be noted that Reed Richards is the smartest man alive, and exists in a world with Mutants, Inhumans and Sorcerers. There is a way for all the members of the Illuminati to return, using a technique that we have already seen on screen.

Mutants might be the key to bringing The Illuminati back

In X-Men: Days of Future Past, the remaining mutants banded together to survive the Sentinel onslaught. Their chief strategy to avoid The Sentinels was to use Kitty Pryde’s powers to warn the mutants a day before the attack happened. Kitty Pryde was able to do this by sending the consciousness of a person back a couple of days, giving them the location of the Sentinel attack, and allowing them to escape the attack before it ever happened.

Given that mutants exist on Earth 838 as well, a version of Kitty Pryde, under orders from the Professor and Mister Fantastic, could have a similar plan in place, specifically for situations that Wanda Maximoff created on that Earth.

Kitty Pryde could send anyone back through time, perhaps a designated survivor of the Illuminati, like Balder the Brave, or a fellow X-Men like the Wolverine, who could convince the team of the oncoming threat. The existence of the threat could be corroborated by Professor X, who peers into the dystopian future that the informant’s consciousness comes from.

John Krasinski’s Mister Fantastic could lead The Illuminati to find and destroy Wanda Maximoff

Wanda Maximoff’s assault on The Illuminati citadel left all but 2 members of the Illuminati dead. While the team dismissed the threat of the Scarlet Witch at first, focusing on Strange and his history with incisions in various realities, if and when they are revived, the team could elect to hunt down and destroy Wanda Maximoff in as many realities as possible, including there own.

However, the characters would be well aware of Wanda’s powers and would bring the entire might of their Earth to fight Wanda this time. This could include the entire Fantastic Four, The Inhumans, The X-Men, Balder, Sorcerers from around the world and other versions of known superheroes if they exist. This could also sow the seeds of a Multiversal conflict, one that is distinct from Kang’s, leading to Secret Wars.

John Krasinski could play the role of Reed Richards again, teaming up with Sue Storm, played by Emily Blunt, while also laying the foundation for the creation of a council of Reeds, one formed with Ioan Gruffud, Miles Teller and Pedro Pascal, who is rumored to play the character in the MCU’s upcoming Fantastic Four film. This lineup could also include a version of Alex Hyde-White’s Reed Richards from the unreleased The Fantastic Four (1994)
