Jon Stewart’s return to The Daily Show has caused a huge reaction among fans of the series. Not only because he is a very high-profile celebrity, being an iconic comedian, but because he was an important part of the late-night talk show, being one of the most memorable hosts it has ever had. His return to the series as a host for Mondays has not only made fans incredibly happy but also past hosts.
John Oliver, worked alongside Stewart for a few years, recently spoke on the return of the legendary host, after Trevor Noah walked away more than a year ago.

It is safe to say that John Oliver perfectly encapsulates the public’s reaction to Jon Stewart’s return to The Daily Show. The comedian was giving an interview with NBC when the news of this broke, resulting in his reaction getting caught on camera. Oliver was extremely caught off guard when finding out about this, stating that the show needed a host and Stewart certainly is one.
“I mean, that’s, that is a surprise,” Oliver said. “That’s a show that needs a host. He certainly is a very, very good one. So yeah, it’ll be exciting to see what he does.”
He also compared his return to the late-night talk show to that of Michael Jordan coming back for the 1995 game after having retired beforehand. His reaction was much like views online, who very more than a little excited at the fact that someone as iconic as him had come back to a talk show as loved as this.
Trevor Noah Is Also Excited For Jon Stewart’s Return
John Oliver wasn’t the only past host of The Daily Show to voice how they felt about Jon Stewart’s return as Trevor Noah also spoke on the matter on his X profile. Noah was the previous permanent host of the show, having left in 2022. Ever since then, the late-night talk show has been looking for a permanent host and still is.

Noah replied to Stewart’s announcement of his return, voicing his excitement. Many other past hosts have also mentioned their support for the comedian’s return after nearly a decade online, including Troy Iwata, and Grace Kuhlenschmidt.
