Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League hasn’t received a great reception from Arkhamverse fans but the developer is keen on attracting the players. After initially teasing post-launch content for the game including the arrival of Joker, Rocksteady has revealed the content and that Joker will be a playable character in the game.

Although Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set in the Arkhamverse where the Joker has been dead for five years, this will be a new version of the character. Rocksteady also shared the gameplay footage of Joker seeing which players are excited and can’t wait to play.

Rocksteady announced the post-launch content for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League ahead of its release in the third and last episode of the Insider series. The developer shared a roadmap of content that will be coming to the game sometime in March, a month after the game’s release. Moreover, the DLC will be free for all players owning a copy of the game.

It was revealed that Season One will bring new boss fights, new enemies, a new playable character Joker, a playable environment based on Joker, and new episodes with fresh activities and missions for players to engage in. Rocksteady explained that the Joker coming to the game is a new version of the iconic character from the dimension of Elseworld comics.

The developer revealed that Joker was part of a Suicide Squad in the Elseworld and even though he is cooperative, he is “unhinged in a different way.” The gameplay footage revealed unique combat, traversal, and weaponry for the character. Joker is seen using a rocket-powered umbrella to traverse and shoot enemies with his gun. The players have been going crazy over the player and can’t wait for the character to drop in the game.

A Reddit user took to the SuicideSquadGaming subreddit and shared Joker gameplay players have shared their opinions and they are super impressed. Players discussed how expressive animations for the character are and called the traversal and melee “fantastic.” They also added Joker looks different enough from the Joker we’ve seen in Arkhamverse and it should not cause any issues. A player also wants looney tunes outfit for the character.

Players also appreciated the goofiness of the character and how well he looks, calling him phenomenal and fantastic. One player said, “He’s already my main lmao” while another player added that Joker “looks like a Fortnite character and I dig it.” Players also added they were initially worried about Joker from Arkhamverse but developers pulling him from Elseworld is great.

Players can Joker’s umbrella to glide, fly, or knock enemies out and some players seem worried about it saying that it looks slow and that doesn’t the gameplay shows more gunplay and shooting. However, this is just a revelation of what’s coming to the game post-launch and Rocksteady will surely release a few trailers showcasing more gameplay footage as the DLC nears its release.

Rocksteady also revealed that three additional seasons have been planned with new content, new playable characters, and much more. Players are now stoked to play as Joker in the game but it remains to be seen how well the game does when it releases on February 2, 2024.
