According to Vegapunk, the war took place because of the clash of two different ideas, one of which assumingly belonged to Joy Boy. This war changed the One Piece world in a big way, and although it was believed that it ended after the defeat of the first pirate of the sea, Vegapunk points out that it is still going on and the Ancient weapons will play a major role in this war.
Additionally, after the discussion about Joy Boy and the Ancient Weapons, a panel from the One Piece chapter shows a silhouette of Imu-sama, marking his connection to the mysterious character from the void century. Imu has made quite a few appearances until now, but Eiichiro Oda still refuses to reveal his identity.
Imu’s Identity Has Become the Biggest Mystery of One Piece
The secret ruler of the world, Nerona Imu, is potentially the final antagonist of One Piece. He sits on the Empty throne in the Pangea castle and commands not only the World Government but also the Five Elders. Imu made his first appearance during the Levely arc many years ago, but his face has not been revealed yet.
Although a decent amount of details about Imu have been disclosed in One Piece, his identity has still been shrouded in mystery. The story has reached the Final Saga, but Oda still refuses to reveal his face to the One Piece fans. Only his eyes and his silhouette, which give a rough idea of his physical appearance, have been shown till now.
