Jujutsu Kaisen has established itself as one of the most popular anime. Gege Akutami’s magnum opus is spreading like wildfire, with the fandom becoming bigger each day. Currently, Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 is airing and has given the fans several memorable moments. Some people have even started to consider it as one of the modern Big Three of anime.
When there is a mention of the Big Three, there are bound to be questions surrounding the original and new and how is better. The most recent debate that popped up regarding this matter is that Jujutsu Kaisen’s Domain Expansion matches one of Naruto’s most potent abilities than Bleach’s Bankai.
Domain Expansion Is Similar To Genjutsu
Two anime fandoms often argue about who has more powerful characters and who is better, but with Jujutsu Kaisen, it is completely different. The latest fan theory claims that Domain Expansion has similar attributes to Naruto’s Genjutsu. The first similarity that comes to mind is that each individual has their Domain Expansion and Genjutsu levels and styles.
In a Domain Expansion, the user is in complete control and uses it to their advantage. For instance, in Satoru Gojo’s Infinite Void, Jogo could not even lay a finger on him since it was his territory. On the other hand, Genjutsu also has the same logic, with the user creating a fantasy where their foes get trapped, and there is no way that they can escape, while the user can do whatever they like.
Both Domain Expansion and Genjutsu can be broken if the person on the other side can overpower it or counter it with their Domain Expansion or Genjutsu. Jujutsu Kaisen is often thought of as a counterpart to Bleach with the “Big Three” reference. But it came as a surprise when Domain Expansion had more similarities with Naruto’s Genjutsu instead of Bleach’s Bankai.
