Both Toji and Maki were victims of discrimination from their clan for not possessing any cursed energy at all. However, both of them made their paths and although they did not have any cursed energy, they were given the gift of physical strength and speed like no other character. Because of this, both of these characters were quite on par with each other.

However, Maki may have something that sets her apart from Toji and may even prove her to be stronger than Toji. Toji Fushiguro And Maki Zenin Were Victims of Heavenly Restriction

Heavenly Restriction is a kind of cursed limitation wherein a person’s body is improved or limited in exchange for their cursed energy. One description of Heavenly Restrictions is that they are like bindings placed on a sorcerer’s body at birth.

These bindings typically refer to restrictions for which the individual is compensated with enhanced abilities in a different capacity. For instance, a sorcerer born with low cursed energy may become physically gifted due to a Heavenly Restriction. Conversely, it is also possible for sorcerers with high levels of cursed energy to have incredibly weak bodies from birth.

The two most typical cases are Toji and Maki. In their case, abundant physical capabilities were exchanged for Cursed Energy. The two can therefore contend with other sorcerers and show themselves to be very dangerous even with the lack of Cursed Energy. Both of them are quite similar, however, Maki has an additional advantage that puts her one level above Toji.

The difference between Maki and Toji is that Maki can see the curses, while Toji cannot. Like other Cursed Tools, Maki possessed half-frame glasses that were infused with Cursed Energy. When it comes to casting out Curses, Maki can compete with other sorcerers if she uses these Cursed Tools together.

Fushiguro, on the other hand, was not able to see Curses. But he had sharpened his senses to the point where he could sense things with ease. So, even though he was not able to see the curses, he was still able to fight with perfect accuracy thanks to his senses. His senses were so perfectly honed that he was able to go toe to toe with characters like Gojo Satoru, and Suguru Geto and even kill special-grade curses like Dagon.
