The schedule for the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has been improvised. The second season began airing this year with the episodes featuring the events of the Shibuya Incident arc on Thursdays since August. Fans outside Japan can stream the new episodes on platforms like Crunchyroll on the same day as they air in Japan. However, there has been a slight adjustment with this week’s episode on November 30.
There is a change in Jujutsu Kaisen’s airing schedule
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the official account of Jujutsu Kaisen announced that from the second season’s episode 19 onwards, the installment would be released outside of Japan on Fridays at 6 p.m. local time, which roughly translates to 9 a.m. UK time.

The release timings for the episode remain unchanged in Japan.
There have been some problems with the previous episode of the second season which led to this news. Earlier this month, an animation director at MAPPA revealed that episode 17 aired in an unfinished state.
Many staff at MAPPA started expressing their concerns regarding the terrible work conditions. Complaints began to surface after the Shibuya Incident Arc started airing.
会社の名前で褒めてるのは不快だが見えてる範囲で言えば社内の制作、撮影は逃れようのない状況でめちゃくちゃ作品に貢献してる踏ん張り、働きをしているので感謝しなきゃいけない

The director of Jujutsu Kaisen’s 16 episodes, Itsuki Tsuchigami, said in the post above, “Although it is unpleasant to be praised in the name of the company, I have to be grateful for the hard work and dedication of the company’s production and filming staff.” He also appreciated the immense hard work of the staff despite the terrible circumstances.
Animators at MAPPA are facing toxic work conditions while producing Jujutsu Kaisen
There has been a recent meltdown at MAPPA as animators expressed their concerns and troubles. The staff are overwhelmed by work pressure, a short production schedule, and insufficient support to support their intense workload.
バッドニュースが舞い込んできて急激に萎えぽよ。考えるうる限り一番つまらない結末。あーあ、祭り終了だね。はい解散解散。
— バリキオス (@Barikios) November 14, 2023
The tweet above states, “Bad news has arrived, and I’m suddenly overwhelmed. The most boring ending I can think of. Ah, the festival is over. Yes, disbanded. Disbanded.”
Another animator by the username Barikios tweeted something regarding “bad news” with respect to Jujutsu Kaisen season 2’s schedule, which seems to make sense now as the recent news surfaced. Another animator by username Amphibi commented, “Owarida,” which is the Japanese word for “It’s over.”
The studio was subjected to a lot of criticism recently after the work conditions were revealed and it seems like audiences have been quite empathetic towards the staff.
