Yuji Itadori Might Be The One To Take Down Ryomen Sukuna
The expectations were high when Yuji Itadori and Hiromi Higuruma joined hands to take on the King of Curses. Yuji remains the only sorcerer in the series with no proper power-ups. So, the fans thought that it might finally happen, but Gege Akutami surprised everyone when he featured a power-up for Higuruma instead of Yuji. Higuruma developed Cursed Energy since the start of the Culling games, but his rapid progress impressed even the likes of Sukuna.
Within a few days, he learned to use the Reversed Cursed Technique and Domain Expansion. The Jujutsu sorcerers had planned to trap Sukuna inside Higuruma’s Domain Expansion, and then he would use his Executioner’s Sword to put Sukuna to eternal sleep. Ryomen Sukuna enjoyed fighting with Higuruma and was fascinated by his progress. He even used his “Ganbare, ganbare” speech.
Ultimately, Higuruma fell short of using his Executioner’s Sword as Sukuna used consecutive blows on him. But just before collapsing, he threw his Executioner’s Sword towards Yuji, and he stabbed Sukuna with it. Sukuna was busy with Higuruma, so he did not notice Yuji behind him, and this gave him a chance to land the final blow on him.

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 247 ended with Yuji stabbing Sukuna’s back. But it was still not clear whether he hit it or Sukuna had used protection. If Yuji’s blow lands, it might be the end of the King of Curses, otherwise he alone will have to face Ryomen Sukuna. Killing Sukuna is not their only plan. The Jujutsu sorcerers also planned to save Megumi Fushiguro from Sukuna’s grasp.
The task is not as easy as it sounds. Higuruma had the potential to reach Gojo’s level, but it was a tad bit early for him to face Sukuna. But he entrusted his strongest weapon to Yuji, and everything will be revealed in the next chapter.
