Jujutsu Kaisen honors its shonen roots by putting high-school-age characters in the spotlight but pushes them to grow more complicated by putting them through supernatural tribulations as Sorcerers. While the Big Three established a baseline for how shonen anime should look and feel, Jujutsu Kaisen was able to surpass those expectations.
Jujutsu Kaisen has a lot more going for it, putting a new spin on the traditional shonen cliches and attracting fans with its amazing animation. But the one thing that makes the series stand out the most in shonen anime is the ability to avoid filler episodes completely and make every episode exciting and worth the watch.
