Trevor Noah returned as the host of the Grammys for the fourth time, and the comedian did a great job as always as he entertained the crowd with his wise-cracking jokes. Among the many heavy hitters that appeared at the event, Taylor Swift became the huge talking point of the evening as Noah took a hilarious jab at the infamous reputation that she has with the NFL.
Many NFL viewers have been complaining about Swift’s overexposure at the games and the tendency to shift the cameras frequently to her while the game is going on. Noah made fun of these complaints and joked that Swift did not deserve this hatred and swore to take revenge on her behalf. Taylor Swift Announces New Album at the Grammys
Taylor Swift earned another Grammy last night, as she took home the Best Pop Vocal Album award for 2023’s Midnights. This is her 13th Grammy win, and the singer thanked her fans for showering their love on the album. She even had a surprise for them during her awards acceptance speech.
At the end of her speech, she announced a brand new album coming out this April called The Tortured Poets Department. It seems that the album has been in the works for two years, and Swift made it public knowledge only now. She said (via YouTube),
“Okay, this is my 13th Grammy, which is my lucky number. I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way. But I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans.
So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19. It’s called the Tortured Poets Department. I’m gonna go and post the cover right now backstage. Thank you. I love you. Thank you.”
Fans were super excited when Swift made the announcement, and it will be her 11th studio album. For now, no information about its genre is known as she has only announced the title of the album. Fans can expect the tracklist and singles to drop very soon as the album nears its release date.
