After Gina Carano stirred up trouble with her social media posts, her co-star from The Mandalorian, Pedro Pascal, tried to help out. He told her to post stuff supporting transgender rights, but she didn’t listen. This was supposed to calm things down and maybe save the 41-year-old’s job. It shows how messy things can get when you speak your mind, especially in showbiz.

Even though Pascal tried, Disney still let Carano go. This got people talking about being responsible, accepting others, and how what you believe can affect your career. It’s a reminder that what you say online can have big consequences, even if you’re a celeb.

Gina Carano Said Pedro Pascal Tried To Support Her Pre-Disney Exit

Gina Carano spilled the beans about how Pedro Pascal, her buddy from The Mandalorian, had her back before Disney kicked her out. It all kicked off when she got slammed online for some comments she made about pronouns back in September 2020.

People asked her to show support for the transgender community, so she kinda joked around by putting “boop/bop/beep” in her Twitter bio. But, yikes, folks weren’t amused, and things got real messy.

Then, in February 2021, she got the boot from The Mandalorian after sharing a post that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Carano mentioned how Pascal tried to lend a hand during the whole mess. He suggested she “just put #transrights in your feed. Do it, and they’ll leave you alone.”

But Carano wasn’t feeling it. She said it just wasn’t her thing to hashtag stuff like that. She said in the interview with THR,

“Because that’s not my style, to put hashtag anything. I’m also not going to put #TrumpsRights.”

Plus, she made it clear she wasn’t trying to insult anyone; she just thought her joke was kinda “cute, like R2-D2.” She also talked about her bond with Pascal, saying they got pretty tight while filming. She said,

“Me and Pedro were so close. He knows 1,000 percent I’m not homophobic or transphobic. He texted me after Carl Weathers passed away. We had our conversation, and it was beautiful.”

Carano shared how Pascal texted her, thanking her for always having his back. The former mixed martial artist unveiled,

“One thing he did say was, ‘Thank you. You and Carl Weathers have always been protectors. And he knows what that means, and I know what that means, and I wish I could tell why. We basically left it at ‘I can’t wait to give you a big hug.”

Now, Carano’s not just sitting back after being let go. She’s teaming up with Elon Musk’s X to take Disney to court, saying she got the boot unfairly from the franchise.

Gina Carano, known for her role in The Mandalorian, is suing Disney with backing from Elon Musk. According to BBC, she’s seeking $75,000 in damages and wants Lucasfilm to cast her again after being fired over a controversial social media post.

Carano’s lawsuit claims wrongful termination and retaliation, alleging Disney fosters an environment hostile to diverse viewpoints. She argues she was axed for expressing her opinions and challenging online harassment. In a drawn-out statement on X (@ginacarano), she said,

“A bullying smear campaign aimed at silencing, destroying & making an example out of me. Artists do not sign away our rights as American citizens when we enter into employment.”

Carano also alleges gender discrimination, noting that male co-stars faced no repercussions for similar posts. With Musk’s support, Carano’s legal move sparks discussions on free speech and corporate responsibility in the entertainment industry.

It highlights the importance of partnerships beyond showbiz and potential impacts on future practices.
