John Krasinski On Reuniting With The Office Costar Steve Carell

In his interview with Total Film via SlashFilm, actor John Krasinski recalled how challenging it was for him to move from working in a television series to making his own films.

It’s very hard to step outside of your comfort zone — all the way from The Office, to deciding to do a genre movie.”

Apart from IF, he also helmed the hit horror movie A Quiet Place. Krasinski revealed he already thought of Steve Carell joining the band as he had the actor in mind while drafting the dialogues. Surely, he helmed the character after his friend:He is a person that you just want to run up to and hug, and that’s exactly what Blue is.”

Upon meeting, Krasinski and Carell could not help but express how they miss one another. All the more when the latter acknowledged the director’s efforts and felt very privileged to be part of the team.

As much fun as it was to work with him, the most powerful part about it was he came in with the most heartfelt speech about how proud he is of me to be making movies. He said in reading the script, ‘I’m just so honored to be a part of it. I’ll do whatever it takes.’

Krasinski thought he would just be laughing and having a good time that day, but he ended up crying a lot.
