During his appearance on The Ellen Show, John Krasinski revealed how he saved a girl’s life, from drowning, when he was just 17. Discussing the incident from before he became famous, The Office alum recalled how he risked his own life to save the girl, during his time in Costa Rica as a teenager.

While it is easy to act as a superhero in fantasy films with guidance, body double, and CGI; it’s equally difficult to be a savior in real life. But not for the MCU star John Krasinski. The actor who played the role of Reed Richards is indeed a real-life savior.

In a candid interview or rather a friendly appearance on The Ellen Show, John Krasinski opened up about saving a woman’s life before he became famous. Sharing the incident from when he was living in Costa Rica as a 17-year-old, the actor mentioned risking his own life to save the woman.

Narrating the incident in detail, Krasinski began by sharing how he spent a few years in Costa Rica and worked as an English teacher. During his time in the coastal zone, the actor mentioned once visiting the beach during an insane riptide, and witnessing the particular girl getting swept underwater.

John Krasinski Saved A Girl From Drowning At Sea

Sharing the horrific incident with his audience during his appearance on The Ellen Show, John Krasinski explained how he risked his own life to save the drowning woman. The talk show host Ellen DeGeneres began by asking, “You saved someone’s life, I just heard, while you were in Costa Rica. Somebody was pulled out to sea and you saved them”

Yes there was a girl who got pulled out in a current. I was 17, I lived down in Costa Rica for 6 months and taught English. And she got pulled out in the ocean and before I thought about it, I swam out to save her.” 

Without missing a beat, John Krasinski shared the story with DeGeneres and his audience about how he risked his life for a purpose. However, he then mentioned how he felt it was a bad idea since he was 17 and was naturally scared for his own life.

And as I grabbed her, she was underwater, and I was like, ‘this is a bad idea’. Cause the trees were this big and pretty sure there were sharks. And I had to explain that to her, ‘I’m more scared than you, but we should go back in’” 

However, he eventually was able to save the woman and explained how he learned his swimming skills from his mother who was an excellent swimmer.
