Vultures: Police Shut Down Kanye West’s Listening Party in Las Vegas

Kanye West declared that he and Ty Dolla $ign would release their much-awaited joint album Vultures on December 15, which will feature appearances by Freddie Gibbs, Playboi Carti, Future, James Blake, and other artists. The album has not yet been made available on streaming services, though.

On December 12, the self-described ‘rave’ listening party was reportedly canceled by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police after just 20 minutes, just before midnight, according to TMZ. The reason given was that the event was operating without a license. Tickets for the $2,000-per-person event were available via Eventnoire.

As stated by 3 News Las Vegas,

“Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said they got information about the event, but the promoter did not have any licensing. Clark County investigators cited the promoter and the event was ‘disbanded,’ according to LVMPD.”

The illegal Vultures listening party was interrupted by the police, but it left a lasting impression on the supporters as well as the critics.

Kanye West’s Vultures Has a New Release Date?

According to the New York Times, at the listening party for his latest album Vultures, which was scheduled for release on Friday, Kanye West donned a hoodie in the style of the Ku Klux Klan. However, the album is still nowhere to be found. Fans have good reason to be upset as there is no project scheduled for release on the specified date.

However, as per UPROXX, the album was taken down from streaming services one day before it was released, allegedly because of problems with crediting.

The Vultures album was expected to drop either during or after a scheduled album listening event in Las Vegas on Friday, December 15. On December 15, XXL  announced that the album would now be released on December 31, while also adding that a second listening event would take place in Saudi Arabia.

Throughout his career, Kanye West has continuously broken conventions and expectations, making him a true maverick in the music business. Fans had been waiting impatiently for his next creative project since his highly anticipated album, Vultures, was almost here.

Thus, such issues may be the cause of the delay. Moreover, West has a track record of postponing and finishing albums at the last minute, so there may be some additional considerations.
