In 2023, Netflix decided to release the film Bird Box Barcelona. With director David and Alex Pastor in the front seat, it was surprising for the people that the movie had no connection to the 2018 film Bird Box. Expecting at least a cameo from the lead actress Sandra Bullock, the directors answered why they chose not to do that.

“We really had the freedom to come up with an original story that could stand on its own two feet, and that was one of the things that actually, as directors, attracted us to the project, this idea that you don’t even have to have watched the original Bird Box to enjoy this movie, to be honest.”

Sandra Bullock was last seen in the 2022 movie Bullet Train alongside Brad Pitt after which, the actress is currently not attached to any other upcoming projects. As for Bird Box Barcelona, the movie is available to stream on Netflix around the world.
