Katherine Langford’s scene in Avengers: Endgame was very famously cut out from the movie after it was hyped up for a very long time. Fans had expected to see the actress take on the role of Morgan Stark in a futuristic sense after she appeared in the same movie as Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark’s young daughter.

Her role, initially, had been heavily looked upon and fans were unaware of what to expect. Although the scene too was released separately, Joe and Anthony Russo gave out a reason as to why the scene was cut in the first place. Even with the excitement, fans understood as to why the scene had to be cut and how Tony Stark’s journey ended right there.

Katherine Langford’s Scene Did Not Fit Well

Katherine Langford was supposed to have her own scene in Avengers: Endgame that was set to feature her as a grown-up version of Morgan Stark. The sequence was supposed to be parallel to when Thanos used the infinity gauntlet. After Tony Stark uses it ultimately, he too, like Thanos, was shifted to the metaphysical realm.

“What we realized about it was we didn’t feel an emotional association with the adult version of his daughter. So it wasn’t ringing to us and resonating with us on an emotional level, which is why we moved away from it.”

The scene involved both Langford and Robert Downey Jr. having a conversation with each other and showing his daughter in the future. It was meant to be a satisfactory end for the character. Tony Stark was meant to know that his daughter lived a long and beautiful life. However, the Russo brothers decided to take it out as they realized that the scene did not have as much emotional impact as they would have liked.

Could The MCU Have Planned Something Bigger For Katherine Langford?

Although Katherine Langford could not make her debut as Morgan Stark in Avengers: Endgame, there could be a possibility that she has more coming for her. Seeing that her character is based in a distant future, there is a chance that she does not appear anytime soon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

There is, however, another possibility. Time travel has been made possible, thanks to none other than Morgan Stark’s father. So it would make sense that she would have at least some, if not all access to his research. It could also bring about the possibility that her character travels back in time to be with the newly formed Avengers. Or, hers would be a character for a much later phase in the franchise. She could even replace Tony Stark as Iron Man.
