Kathryn Hahn’s Marvel miniseries, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, was reported as a dark comedy, even before production began. Variety later confirmed the news quoting various sources from within the series. Several casting reports hinted at characters with a “dark sense of humor,” such as Joe Locke’s Billy Kaplan (via Deadline).

However, the latest report from an inside scooper indicates that the series is even darker than fans could have imagined. The X page, @ScarletWitchUpd, reported that Agatha: Darkhold Diaries is undeniably a “DARK” comedy, and they expressed surprise at Marvel’s willingness to let the series take such a creative direction. Further exciting the fans, the scooper added that the series features several “surprising choices” and “dark turns”.

Several fans flooded the comment section, either asking questions about the quality of the series or seeking confirmation of their theories regarding characters and plot points. Earlier, another Marvel scooper, @thewatcher2099, shared in a now-deleted tweet that the tone of the series was akin to American Horror Story: Coven meets Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (via Reddit).
