Keanu Reeves’ former co-star played the lead in Batwoman, a superhero television series. She opened up on the reason for leaving the show on social media.

Ruby Rose on leaving the DC superhero series Batwoman

Fans of the actress were disappointed when it was revealed that she would be leaving the superhero television show after its first season. She shared a statement with Deadline,

“This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew, and everyone involved with the show.” 

Sources later found that her departure from the superhero series might not have been entirely her personal decision.

The actress later took to social media to share the truth. The actress revealed she was nearly paralyzed on the set of Batwoman. The actress did not share many details of the injury, but she shared a graphic image of herself undergoing emergency surgery.

She shared,

“A couple of months ago I was told I needed an emergency surgery or I was risking becoming paralyzed. I had herniated two discs doing stunts, and they were close to severing my spinal cord [sic].” 

The actress shared that she had sustained several injuries during the show due to unfavorable work conditions.

Ruby Rose exposed the horrifying set conditions of Batwoman

The actress opened up on the unsafe working conditions, as she talked about the cut near her eye. She shared that numerous crew members suffered burns, and one was left quadriplegic. She also shared the reason she came forward,

“I will come for you so what happened to me never happens to another person again. And so I can finally take back my life and the truth.”

Rose wrote in one of the posts,

“I did not quit. They ruined Kate Kane and they destroyed Batwoman, not me. I followed orders, and if I wanted to stay I was going to have to sign my rights away.”

In response to the allegations by the former DC actress, WBTV released the following statement. It disclosed that the actress was fired from her job. The statement,

“Despite the revisionist history that Ruby Rose is now sharing online aimed at the producers, the cast and crew, the network, and the Studio, the truth is that Warner Bros. Television had decided not to exercise its option to engage Ruby for season two of BATWOMAN based on multiple complaints about workplace behavior that were extensively reviewed and handled privately out of respect for all concerned.”

Ruby Rose’s show Batwoman was aired in 2019, followed by two more seasons of the superhero series.
