It is around Christmas time when miracles happen. No one is more familiar with these Christmas miracles other than Tom Hanks and Kevin Feige. Working in a classic rom-com movie that has been deemed one of the best Christmas movies ever, Feige owes his MCU career to Tom Hanks’ film.
Talking about the timeless classic titled You’ve Got Mail, Kevin Feige claimed that he owes his position as Marvel President to the iconic movie. Stating how he was attached to Hanks’ film, things would have been utterly different had Feige never worked on the sets of the 1998 film.
The MCU Would Have Been Very Different If Not For Kevin Feige
Back in 1998, Kevin Feige worked in the classic rom-com movie You’ve Got Mail. Starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in the lead roles, the film was received quite well and was one of the best Christmas movies of all time.
In the 1998 film, Kevin Feige served as the production assistant to executive producer Lauren Shuler Donner. This relationship proved crucial to Feige’s career as Lauren Donner helped the Marvel President greatly by giving him the support that he needed. In 2000, Feige worked as an associate producer in X-Men.
This connection proved to be vital because it was Lauren Shuler Donner who recommended Kevin Feige’s name to be associated with the film. After working in the 2000 film, Feige took off the flight and started working and essentially developing the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it.
Kevin Feige Will Not Resurrect Iron Man Again!
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Feige had a lot to say about the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Phase 5 continues to excite and disappoint people. Talking about the moment when Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man snaps his fingers against Thanos.
“We are going to keep that moment and not touch that moment again. We all worked very hard for many years to get to that, and we would never want to magically undo it in any way.”
Avengers director Joe Russo further added,
“We’d already said tearful goodbyes on the last day of shooting. Everybody had moved on emotionally. We promised him it would be the last time we made him do it — ever.”
Being the President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige is currently associated with 18 upcoming projects as a producer or an executive producer set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
