Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner wed in September 2004 and filed for divorce in May 2023. After months of legal fight, The Bodyguard actor finally won and made her handbag designer ex-partner move out of his $145 million estate in California.
Sources said Baumgartner wants to relocate into a new house in Santa Barbara to relieve stress between her and Costner. Now that she has officially moved out of the Santa Barbra house they (the sources) shared, she’s feeling “relieved” and “happy.”
Christine Baumgartner is Feeling Elated to Move Out of Kevin Costner’s Place
About two weeks ago, Christine Baumgartner left out her ex-husband’s house and moved into a smaller home on the same property. The source revealed that Costner’s estranged wife “will stay at a smaller house on the property that’s been used as a staff quarters.”
This move is a “temporary solution” for her so that Kevin Costner’s kids’ lives are not disturbed. While the divorce is still coming to terms, things are much better than before because Baumgartner reportedly feels good after the move and is happy with “less drama” in life.

According to their prenuptial agreement, Baumgartner was required to leave the home within 30 days of the divorce filing on May 1. Despite this, she didn’t comply, leading Costner to pursue legal action. A court ruling mandated that Kevin Costner pay Christine Baumgartner around $130,000 monthly in child support.
As the situation escalated, Costner’s legal team requested her to vacate the property by July 13. Eventually, a judge intervened and set a deadline of July 31 for her to move out. Although Baumgartner’s legal team asked for an extension until August 15, the last day of July remained the reported court-ordered move-out date.

Christine Baumgartner is still staying near Kevin Costner‘s place so that her kid’s school routine won’t be disrupted.

The couple has three children – a 15-year-old son, Cayden, a 14-year-old son, Hayes, and a 12-year-old daughter Grace. Baumgartner officially moved out on Friday, July 28 – three days before the court-ordered date.
Afterward, the ex-couples have separately treated their children – Cayden (16), Hayes (14), and Grace (13) – to trips to Hawaii and British Columbia. The Untouchables actor also attended a Taylor Swift concert with his daughter in LA. He posted on Instagram, calling it an “inspiring night” and expressing that he’s now a “Swiftie.” Both parents enjoy valuable moments with their kids before their school year starts.
