Kevin Spacey has faced a number of misconduct allegations in the past, yet he did not keep a low profile and actually resurfaced with a new and bizarre video for Christmas Eve. Fans were amused with the seven-minute interview clip with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
Spacey starred as the power-hungry politician Frank Underwood in Netflix’s House of Cards. He was kicked off from the series in 2017 on its sixth season after allegations of s*xual assault. The latest video revolved around the topic of Spacey’s Underwood running for president in the upcoming 2024 election.
Kevin Spacey Becomes Frank Underwood Again In A Bizarre Interview
In his YouTube channel, Kevin Spacey posted an interview clip entitled Being Frank With Tucker where the actor dressed up as his House of Cards role Frank Underwood and sat down with host Tucker Carlson. The actor responded to the question if he would run for president:
“Well, that’s really a decision for the people, Tucker. It’s not something that I really think about or want to do, but I’ve always believed that nothing should be off the table in life or in art. I think we can both agree that we need to get some adults back in the room, so if that means taking on the chief executive role, well that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make for this great nation.”
In the same conversation, Spacey addressed the allegations he faced and when Netflix decided to drop him from the show. He noted how strange it was that the studio hastily made their decision based on rumors alone. The actor explained:
“It is bizarre they decided to publicly cut ties with me on allegations alone, allegations that have now been proven false. Because I don’t think there’s any question. Netflix exists because of me. I put them on the map, and they tried to put me in the ground.”
When the host asked him when he will be back to work, Spacey answered that the moment they started talking, he was already back in his game. This means that his answers are both part of an episode as well as his real response to the controversies tarnishing his name. Finally, he remarked with a reflection:
“Tucker, what’s true and what’s false? What’s life and what’s art? What’s real, what’s performance? I love it when these things intersect because then it gets interesting.”
Spacey was found innocent of the nine charges he was facing in the United Kingdom. He was also found not accountable in the New York civil case filed by actor Anthony Rapp.
Kevin Spacey Addressed Allegations In A Weird Monologue Clip
In 2018, Kevin Spacey made a video for the first time after he was accused of assault and misconduct that derailed his career in Hollywood. In a video posted on YouTube, the actor said:
“Despite all the poppycock, the animosity, the headlines, the impeachment without a trial. Despite even my own death, I feel surprisingly good, and my confidence grows each day that soon enough you will know the full truth.”
Spacey has a strange way of addressing the allegations thrown at him and seeking redemption for himself, yet the fans who have seen both videos are equally impressed with how he delivered his lines.
