The Buckingham Palace announced last month that King Charles had been admitted to a London hospital. Citing the reason as a procedure related to the prostate area, the world was quite shocked to learn about Charles’ condition.
Well, it has been quite some time since he was admitted to the hospital and since then, there has been frequent news about the king’s health. Here’s all you need to know about King Charles’ battle with cancer.
King Charles’ Was Admitted To The Hospital Last Month
Mark Landler has been covering the Royal Family since 2019 and thus, he spoke to The New York Times about the king’s health and how it had affected the world. Landler revealed that he was quite surprised by the openness that the Royal Family had with the world regarding King Charles and his health.
Soon after, it was announced that Charles had been suffering from cancer. Not revealing what kind of cancer the king was facing, Landler believes that Charles talking openly about his condition motivated the people to talk more openly about their medical conditions with professionals as well as in their personal lives. Landler marked that “the king is facing a potentially life-threatening illness, but we don’t know how life-threatening it is. It has created a fair amount of anxiety.”
The world was quite anxious regarding the king’s health since it had only been 18 months since King Charles’ coronation. On the other hand, Buckingham Palace has been a lot open regarding news pertaining to the king and even revealed some good news.
The King Returns To His Stately Duties
After getting admitted to the hospital, Buckingham Palace announced that the king had been in good health and would return to stately duties.
“During the King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.”
The statement further read,
“Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”
As the world waits and watches, we hope that King Charles returns back to his normal health. Prince Charles has also commented that the health problems could reunite the family as he flew over 5000 miles to meet with King Charles upon his health announcement.
