Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is arguably the most anticipated game of the year for PlayStation 5 owners, and we’re inching ever closer to the game’s release. The second core game in the series and the third overall if the Miles Morales spinoff is included, it will feature both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable characters, allowing players to switch between the two on the fly.

As for villains, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will feature Kraven the Hunter, Venom, and The Lizard, with others such as Black Cat being hinted at as well. The aforementioned three are new to the series’ rogues gallery and will likely be the main antagonists of the game. A new video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by user Blitzwinger has fans of the game excited once again.

What did fans say about the Spider-Man and Kraven encounter?

In the video posted by Blitzwinger, Peter Parker as Spider-Man in the symbiote suit enters a church at night to take a serum for Dr. Curt Connors, aka The Lizard, presumably to cure or at least help him. Kraven the Hunter is there, and the two scuffle for a bit as Kraven discovers that loud sounds hurt the symbiote suit and Peter, who is wearing it. This puts Peter at a severe disadvantage, but he still manages to take the serum and escape, but not before telling Kraven that they will finish this later.

Many fans were excited by the video and Kraven in particular, including Blitzwinger themselves, who said “Kraven is going to be a Force to be reckoned with in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2!” Others agreed with him.

Meanwhile, others expressed high hopes for the game and praised the voice actor of Peter Parker, Yuri Lowenthal.

Fans will no doubt be looking forward to a rematch between Spider-Man and Kraven when they get to play the game and experience it for themselves.

How long will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 be?

With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 potentially having over ten villains and a much larger open world, it’s only natural to wonder about the game’s length. In an interview with VG247, Ryan Smith, senior game director at Insomniac, spoke about the length of the game, saying:

“Spider-Man 2 is in the same ball-park as the first game in terms of overall play time. And we really thought about how to make each of the moments – moments like The Lizard fight you played – a little more epic, or a little deeper, or a little more story-integrated. We don’t want this to be an 80-100 hour game, that’s not where we want to be. We want to tell amazing stories, the best we can. We want to make every mission really, really memorable. That’s our goal, rather than going super, super broad.”

It’s more than possible that the game will have a larger amount of side content than the first game, especially with the expanded areas of New York City for players to explore.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases exclusively for the PlayStation 5 on October 20th.
