However, the thing fans found themselves time and again unable to wrap their head around was the decision. Because if one thinks of it, it really doesn’t make sense when considering his broader goals and motivations. Firstly, killing Tekka doesn’t guarantee the elimination of the map to Luke Skywalker, as other copies or sources could exist. Ren’s belief that Tekka held the sole knowledge of Luke’s whereabouts seems shortsighted.
Furthermore, Ren’s connection to Tekka, implied by their conversation, hints at a deeper history between them that remains unexplored. Killing Tekka without further exploration of their relationship leaves a significant gap and undermines the complexity of Ren’s character, which fans now wish could have been done otherwise.
Overall, Ren’s decision to kill Tekka appears more as a plot device to establish his villainy rather than a logical progression of his character arc, making it an inconsistency that fans to this day cannot make peace with.
Why Kylo Ren Killing Han Solo Was Completely Unnecessary?
While Lor San Tekka’s killing is something that fans don’t understand, Kylo Ren’s killing Han Solo in The Force Awakens is viewed as unnecessary and hurtful by many. Firstly, it didn’t significantly advance the plot or Ren’s character development. While it showcased Ren’s internal struggle and allegiance to the dark side, this could have been achieved through alternative means without sacrificing such a beloved character.
Moreover, Han Solo’s death deprived the sequel trilogy of his potential for further narrative exploration and character growth. His presence could have offered valuable mentorship to Rey or contributed to the dynamics within the Resistance.
Han’s demise felt forced within the storyline. Killing off such an iconic character prematurely somewhat disregarded his legacy and impact on the Star Wars saga. Han Solo’s character deserved a more fitting farewell, one that honored his contributions to the franchise and resonated with fans on a deeper level.
