A little over a week ago, Activision revealed that their next character skin would be a Call of Duty x Tomb Raider collaboration, delighting players of the two-game series. Fans will be able to play as a classic-looking Lara Croft, based on the original Saturn/PlayStation games from the 90s, sporting the well-known blue tank top and cargo shorts.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’s going to be cheap, so dig deep into your pockets if you want to battle it out as the latest collab character. Here’s all the current information on when and how you can get your hands on the new gear.

When does the Call of Duty x Lara Croft skin release?

Call of Duty
Lara Croft is the latest character to join Call of Duty.

A small description from the Season 05 Reload overview gives players a brief idea of what to expect from the content – “Experience the legendary adventurer, famous archaeologist, and ultimate expert in the fields of archery, dual pistols, and other small-arms combat”.

How to get your hands on the Call of Duty Lara Croft skin

This is where you will need to part with some of your hard-earned cash to unlock the Lara Croft skin. Players can only play as Lara if they have purchased the Operator Bundle from the item shop. This will set you back around 2400 points, which works out to be $19.99 in money terms. It does seem a little pricey for a skin, but hey, you would rather enter a warzone as a legendary adventurer who’s an expert in archery and dual pistols instead of the baffling Niki Minaj skin which was released in August.

If the Lara Croft skin is right up your alley and you’re willing to part with the cash here’s what’s included in the Tomb Raider Operator Bundle:

Will you keep your Weapons, Operators and Items in Call of Duty Modern Warfare III?

It’s worth noting that Modern Warfare III is only 2 months away. The good news is that Activision has confirmed that all of your Weapons, Operators and Items that you have purchased will carry over from 2.0 to 3.0, so you don’t need to worry about losing the Lara Croft skin or previous purchases during the changeover.

Let’s hope that Activision starts adding more gaming characters to Call of Duty, as they seem to fit the game better than the previous updates. Rumours are suggesting Diablo IV might be in the running for a skin which would be a welcome addition compared to the rappers released in the past.
