Lies of P may be as difficult as any of the Souls games. But fear not, as patch notes have arrived for the recently released title. And for those players struggling with Boss battles, this may be some welcome relief.
Following the game’s release on 19 September, many have tackled the game, which is a dark gothic take on the original story of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. However, many players are said to be frustrated with how challenging the game is.
What are the patch notes in Lies of P?
Well not even 2 weeks after its release, developers Neowiz, have introduced update 1.2.0.0, and no doubt many players will be breathing a sigh of relief. And with the patch notes come nerfs to both monster and Boss HP, an increase in drop rates, a weight-carrying buff and the guard parry art.
Described by many as Pinocchio meets Bloodborne, Lies of P has been described by many players as ‘challenging’. And given its comparison to the Souls games, it’s no surprise that the difficulty aspect would be in a similar vein.

In addition to decreasing the health of some enemies out in the wild, there is an increased chance of breaking their stance and the possibility of increasing the window in which they can be staggered.
Whilst drop rates have increased, it now means that it will be more difficult to harvest Star Fragments. But on the upside, it means it will be easier to obtain Moonstones and Ergo items.
Another major point to note with the patch is the increased support for PlayStation controllers. With both the DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers, there is now the ability to use the touchpad to open the menu.

However, it may be that the news regarding the patch for three of the main bosses is what players have been expecting the most. The bosses in question – Fallen Archbishop Andreus, King of Puppets and Simon Manus have all seen decreased HP. And with the latter, there is also decreased damage and an increased chance to stagger.
When the news of the patch for Lies of P was announced there was a mixed reaction with fans. And it seems that the majority of players taking to Social Media were against the patch update;
“Extremely p***ed that Lies Of P got a difficulty patch before I finished my first playthrough. Proud to say that I beat the archbishop and the king of puppets before they got nerfed.” –@heytheremocha
“Bahahaha of course after four hours of fighting king of puppets, he gets nerfed. Glad I beat the OG tho.” – @fucc_yourself
“Casuals won, we don’t want enemies being nerfed not even a single one, that’s a shame, steelrising 2 incoming, game is ruined because of casuals crying.” – @StormDCLegends1
Going by the comments, it seems like the latest update has split the crowd.
