Call of Duty is another title whose latest iteration almost always involves hundreds of thousands of players daily. It also provides a free-to-play battle royale mode, Warzone. A fun game mode that used to be in previous CoD titles is the Prop Hunt. The mode, however, is absent from Activision’s latest titles, but it seems like LEGO Fortnite will utilize its popularity by incorporating it.

As stated in the description of the game mode on Fortnite‘s official website, the game mode sees players hiding as props on a giant map and players from the opposing team. The opposing team, known as the Seekers, must find and eliminate all the players hiding in the garb of props.

This is similar to how the game mode was available in Call of Duty, barring some intricacies specific to some maps in the FPS title. The game mode was revealed to be coming to Epic’s battle royale title as part of the State of Unreal 2024 showcase.

The ability to create custom LEGO islands using the Unreal Editor for Fortnite was also unveiled at the showcase and then added to the game. The Prop Hunt mode has also been launched as an island for LEGO Fortnite and two additional islands, namely the LEGO Battle Arena and LEGO Cat Island Adventure.

While the trailer only came out hours ago when writing the article, plenty of people loved the newly launched game mode and said it brought back some nostalgia for players. The official website shows over 2.5 thousand players have started playing the game mode.

The Prop Hunt Game Mode Is Proof That Fortnite Knows How to Club Its Popularity and Gamers’ Sentiment

Epic Games knows how to make use of the title's immense popularity among gamers of all ages.

If one searches on social media, one can find plenty of posts in which various CoD players can be seen demanding that the game mode return.

If anything, various content creators that focus primarily on Activision’s FPS title still make content in the game mode. The reason is simple: it appeals to the audience and has the moment-to-moment thrill usually seen in a fun game of hide and seek.

CoD abandoned this game mode long ago, creating a vacuum in the industry. Epic Games saw it as the perfect opportunity to include it as one of LEGO’s Official Custom Islands. And also launch Custom Islands and allow everyone to create their own islands.
