The actor who lives in a small community in upstate New York, was also close friends with Paul Rudd who happened to reside very close to his area. The Marvel alum and the Watchmen star ended up pooling in their money to buy a candy shop named Samuel Sweet Shop in Rhinebeck.
The two actors who were frequent visitors to this very popular store in the local community, realized that it was about to be shut down following the death of its owner Ira Gutner. Determined to not let the business fall away, Morgan and Rudd decided to work together to ensure that the residents’ sweet tooth will continue to be satiated.
In an appearance in The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Supernatural star elaborated on how this collaboration between him and the Avengers star came to be.
Paul and I had been friends for a while and we just didn’t want it to turn into, you know, a smoothie stand or something … So we were like, ‘Yeah, let’s pool our money together and get a candy store’.
Through this simple but significant gesture, Morgan and Rudd proved that they still cared about the community they were living in despite becoming major stars in Hollywood.
Why The Walking Dead Was Extra Special For Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Jeffrey Dean Morgan played two diametrically opposite characters in two of his most successful series, Supernatural and The Walking Dead. While he was a devoted father who brought up his sons to confront and fight dangerous supernatural forces in the former, the latter saw him embrace a brutal antagonist in his role as Negan, the sociopathic leader.

Both these roles gave him huge recognition and acclaim with global audiences while also serving as extremely memorable filming experiences for the actor. But Morgan still believed that his stint in The Walking Dead was one that he would miss more. In an interview with CinePop, The Boys star elaborated on the reasons for this.
As John Winchester in Supernatural, Morgan was present only in about 14 or 15 episodes in total while he was a much larger presence from seasons 7 to 11 in The Walking Dead. This was a significant reason for his preference for the zombie series despite both being close to his heart.
I’m very close to Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki of Supernatural and I still talk to them regularly. But The Walking Dead, I live in Georgia with this family for 7, 8 months of the year, and then usually I’m with Norman Reedus doing press somewhere else in the world for another couple months… The Walking Dead is a different thing and I’ll very much miss this [show] being part of my life.
Meanwhile, the celebrity is giving fans a lot of excitement with his role in the latest season of The Boys. While there was not much to be known about who he would play before the season premiered, showrunner Eric Kripke has ensured that Morgan’s presence is a major turning point for the narrative, as witnessed in the first 6 episodes of the series.
