Marvel Movie Beats Robert Downey Jr’s Oppenheimer
2023 has been the year of fabulous cinema as acclaimed filmmakers dropped their highly anticipated projects, this very year. Showering fans with movies like Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, and more, directors like Christopher Nolan and Martin Scorsese, respectively, offered fans with cinematic magnificence.
Now that Oscars 2024 is approaching and fans are waiting to see who takes home the Golden Statue, Letterboxd released the list of highest-rated movies, as per their opinion. Following the ratings online and their own judgment, the media outlet placed Across the Spider-Verse, Poor Things, and Oppenheimer in the top three positions respectively.
Following the Marvel movie’s 4.5 rating, Letterboxd offered the top position to the Spider-Man movie. Further with both Poor Things, and Oppenheimer receiving a 4.3 rating, the two movies competed with each other in second and third position respectively. While most fans appreciated the unbiased list, a few of them waged war on X.

Slamming the outlet for offering the Marvel animation top position on the list, netizens on X started a debate. Although most fans appreciated Spider-Man: Across the Spider‑Verse and claimed that the film deserves to be on top position, others argued that Robert Downey Jr and Cillian Murphy starring Oppenheimer deserve to be on top.
