Jon Cryer has been known around the world for portraying the role of Alan Harper alongside Charlie Sheen in Two and a Half Men. The American sitcom, created by Chuck Lorre, was quite the talk of the town with its various breaks and Sheen’s rehab visits!
Although Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen made up after their public falling out, Jon Cryer is still in the dark. Talking about a return to Two and a Half Men, Jon Cryer doesn’t mind joining the series again but he isn’t sure about Sheen.
Jon Cryer Is Unsure About Returning To Two and a Half Men
Starring alongside Charlie Sheen in Two and a Half Men, the two men literally carried the show for eight seasons. After Sheen had to visit the rehab for a third time for which the show was put on hold, Warner Bros. canceled the remaining episodes and had a public fallout with the actor.
Although years later, series creator Chuck Lorre made up with Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer is still unsure about joining the world of Two and a Half Men if the opportunity arose. Stating that he is happy for Sheen and Lorre, Cryer is still in doubt about whether he should return or not as the actor revealed in an interview with ET.
“I’m not going to rule anything out, but I haven’t talked to Charlie [Sheen]. I’m really glad they made up… I can only say for Chuck, clearly. He has the enormous relief of somebody who’s been able to rekindle a friendship that was really meaningful to him.”
He further continued,
“He [Chuck Lorre] and Charlie were very, very close for the first few years of Two and a Half Men and that they’ve managed to reconcile is really lovely. I have not spoken to Charlie. I don’t know that he knows my number anymore. But anything could happen.”
Although Jon Cryer is indeed happy for Sheen, there was a time when the duo had a public fallout. When Charlie Sheen was fired, he called Cryer a “traitor” and a “turncoat”.
Charlie Sheen Called Jon Cryer A “Traitor”
Back when Charlie Sheen was admitted into rehab for a third time, Warner Bros. Television decided to cancel the remaining episodes of Two and a Half Men and remove Sheen from the series. Jon Cryer did not pick sides and after Sheen’s release, the actor told E! News that Cryer was a traitor!
“Like I said: You’re with me, or you’re with the trolls. Obviously, he’s with the trolls. Jon has not called me. He’s a turncoat, a traitor, a troll. Clearly he’s a troll. He issued a statement. Is it gonna take me calling him a ‘traitor, juvenile and scared’ for him to get it?”
After the ordeal, Ashton Kutcher was brought in to replace Charlie Sheen and the show ran for four more seasons. With a rating of 7.1/10 on IMDB and an average of 65% on Rotten Tomatoes, the sitcom is available to stream on Peacock Premium in the U.S.
