Jeremy Renner has been making a name in the industry since the beginning of his career. But it wasn’t until he made his MCU debut with Thor (2011) as Hawkeye, that the actor became a household name. His character of the bow-and-arrow-wielding superhero became a fan-favorite because of his witty quips and sarcastic remarks, which is very in-tune with Renner’s own personality.

He last helmed the superhero costume in the 2021 Disney+ series, Hawkeye, where Hailee Steinfeld made her debut as Kate Bishop, his protege from the comics. Unfortunately, last year on Jan 1st, the actor suffered a near-fatal accident after his encounter with a 14,300-pound snowcat. Since then it has been a long year journey of recovery, which the actor has been through with grace. And now he is ready to get back to action.

Jeremy Renner Is Working Through His Pain With Flexibility

Jeremy Renner hit the road to recovery with physiotherapy months after his near-fatal accident. He had multiple injuries, including broken ribs, a fractured tibia, ankle, clavicle, and shoulder. But as soon as he was given the okay, he was home and working through the pain to bring back movement to his body. Starting with exercises focused on healing, he was hitting the gym soon after to get back his strength.

And now,  when prompted about what he would like his character to do next in the MCU, Renner, speaking to Comicbook.com said,

“Flexibility. I’m stretching as we talk about this. Like, no joke. Yeah. I don’t know. I leave the storytelling and the narrative to the writers and all that. But I do love the character, and if they called and asked for me to do it, I’ll be prepared. Feige, I’m stretching right now, my guy!”

Given he had to undergo immense physiotherapy and strength training to gain back movement of his body, flexibility is sure to be at the very top of things he had to work on. Hopefully, we get to see the Hawkeye actor don his superhero cap soon. The actor is already back on the sets of his hit show, Mayor of Kingstown, shooting for the third season.

Recently, Jeremy Renner shot a Super Bowl commercial for Silk, which was also his first on-screen appearance since the accident. With a sip of Silk protein, Jeremy Renner is seen singing and dancing his way through making breakfast for his real-life daughter, Ava. Speaking about how the commercial collaboration came to be, Renner said:

“The partnership was on this campaign. It made a lot of sense to me, just because it was honoring, you know, a wink at the wellness in my recovery. And then having a James Brown song, “I Feel Good,” and their whole campaign slogan, and you know, by feeling “planty good.” made sense. What they didn’t know is that I was already using their product, the year prior, in my recovery. So another part of stars aligning and circles crossing and whatever the heck, it was happening here.”

Well, we hope he is actually feeling “plenty good” about it all and makes a full recovery soon.

Hawkeye is available for streaming on Disney+.
