It has been a few months since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was released, and gamers were introduced to the new Modern Warfare 3 zombie maps. Unlike the other iterations of Call of Duty zombies, this version of the zombie mode doesn’t utilize a round-based system with a small map that needs to be unlocked as you progress through the game.
In this version, the zombie map is now set in an open-world setting using the new Urzikstan map that had been released for the new Warzone season. Since its release, gamers have been searching the entire map for any kind of secrets, Easter eggs, or missions that will allow them to progress in the game modes.
However, gamers are getting bored of this new location and are already awaiting a new map that they can explore. Sadly, many could be disappointed as the slow release of multiplayer, Warzone, and zombie maps could be pointing to a major delay in new maps.
Why Could There Be a Delay for the Next Round of Modern Warfare 3 Zombie Maps?

In the past, there has always been a delay in content when it comes to game modes like Call of Duty Zombies, as they aren’t as popular as the other modes. Since the other game modes are focused on by the development team, it makes sense that the zombie mode will be getting a lot less attention and will most likely have a delay upon getting a new map.
For example, in the past, gamers have been left waiting on new maps for numerous months throughout the year, or in some cases, the wait could be through an entire year. This has left many waiting for new maps or even old ones to be brought in, as players eagerly await new and old rebirth maps to be brought into the game.
These modes aren’t the only ones that have been left behind, as the game mode DMZ has sadly been abandoned, and only a select few maps that were already created are being used by the Warzone game mode.
While there are a lot of game modes within Call of Duty, there are even more maps and modes that the developers need to focus on. This means that the developers will be focusing on creating multiple maps for each seasonal update that is released, and this will take a majority of their time.
Especially for the zombie game mode, if the developers will continue to create open-world maps for the mode. Sadly, this means that if we do get a new zombie map, it will most likely be a future Warzone map or a rebirth map that is being repurposed.
When Will We Be Looking at a New Map For the Zombie Game Mode or Any Other Modes?

As stated above, it tends to take a long time for a development team to create even small maps for the multiplayer mode. This means that for the zombie game mode, it is more likely that players will be waiting a good few months to receive a new map for them to explore.
At the moment, we have been receiving two new multiplayer maps each season, and it seems that the developers will continue to do this for future updates. Along with these new maps, there will also be new game modes coming with each season and will be focused upon the new maps that are brought in with each update.
So far, there has been an announcement that we will be receiving an updated version of Rebirth Island, which was the first map that used the rebirth mechanic. Since the release of the rebirth mechanic, there have only been four mainline rebirth maps that have focused upon this mechanic, and these four maps were released over the past 3 years.
Even though there have been a good quantity of maps for game modes like Warzone, Rebirth, and multiplayer, it is unlikely that we will receive any new zombie maps until at least the middle of the year. The good news is that more content will be added each season for the game mode and its current map.
