There are nine different classes to choose from when creating your avatar in Lords of the Fallen.

As first revealed by Geoff Keighley at Gamescom in 2022, Lords of the Fallen is a game that fans have been waiting nearly a decade for. The cinematic reveal trailer on Opening Night Live was shown to an estimated 5,000,000 viewers and comments from fans were understandably positive.

Keighley stated that he was ‘overwhelmed’ by just how supportive fans of the original Lords of the Fallen (2014) were at the prospect of a reboot nearly a decade later.

Lords of the Fallen takes place in the vast landscape of Mournstead and follows one of the fabled Dark Crusaders as they undertake a quest to quash the inevitable return of the demon god Adyr who was thought defeated. But gods don’t stay defeated for long.

To stop this threat, players must traverse between the worlds of the living (Axiom) and the dead (Umbral). The Dark Crusader is humanity’s last hope and must use the otherworldly lamp to battle the monstrosities that appear in both planes of existence.

Hexworks promises ‘Colossal’ Boss Battles in Lords of the Fallen.

The good news is that players won’t have to endure this campaign themselves. When needed, a crusader companion can be called upon to assist with the game’s seamless coop.

The game is set nearly 1000 years later than the original game and fans can expect to encounter a world that is nearly five times larger. With nine different classes to choose from, players will have to choose their avatar wisely before embarking on their perilous journey.

As we can see from the reveal trailer, this promises to be a bloodthirsty challenging RPG, with boss battles that Hexworks have described as ‘Colossal’. No doubt there will be several hours poring over this game as fans battle through it for completion.

Decapitation, Dragons and Demons, this trailer has it all. The graphics look fantastic and although it may be light on actual combat footage, fans can be more than happy with what they have seen in the trailer so far.

We can see not only the Dark Crusader but also some of the accompanying companions, who may be called on for assistance. One thing that stands out, however, is the transition from Axiom to Umbral and the use of the mystical lamp to move between worlds.
