With the new One Piece Live Action series, it has managed to increase the number of members in its fandom.

Another thing that has made the anime popular in recent times is the Gear 5 transformation of Monkey D. Luffy. People have waited a long time to see the transformation. The manga readers knew Gear 5 Luffy had immense power up his sleeves. But it was the anime that showed it to its full extent. After completing his transformation, Luffy went into Third Gear and pulled Kaido from inside the skull dome. Most people might have overlooked it, but when he pulled Kaido through that tiny hole in the roof, somehow Kaido also developed the stretchable ability of rubber, and his dragon form squeezed through that hole.

A person who awakens their Devil Fruit powers can alter their surroundings, too. But in Luffy’s case, it looks like he can alter anything he touches, including living beings. Other than that, Monkey D. Luffy was simultaneously using Conqueror’s Haki and Armament Haki. People could only understand his true potential after watching the anime.

One Piece Anime Confirms Unknown Gear 5 Power

The One Piece anime has teased several other powers of Monkey D. Luffy that were impossible to know by reading the manga. One of the newfound powers of Luffy is that his Third Gear can be further stretched. During his fight with Kaido, people learned how big Kaido’s Dragon form was. But in the climax, Luffy’s Massive Bajrang Gun was several times bigger than Kaido’s. It is the first time that people have seen it so big.

After Gear 5, his stretching abilities have increased a lot. So, it means that he packs more power with each punch or kick. The sound effects have made it more readable. Even the One Piece anime showcased it when Kaido was seen getting injured with each one of Luffy’s Gear 5 attacks. Keeping in mind that physics in the One Piece world is different from the real world, Luffy has had a major upgrade with Gear 5.

The One Piece anime did a great job of showing and confirming each one of Monkey D. Luffy’s new powers, which the manga failed to show. For the moment, these are his new abilities. With time, Luffy might get experience with Gear 5, which will enable him to use new abilities. Fans are excited to see how far the ‘Future King of Pirates’ will go in terms of power level.
