FromSoftware’s action role-playing title Elden Ring is full of powerful bosses and as much as players have loved to kill them, there are some bosses that players did not want to kill. The lore sometimes requires players to kill a boss they do not want to.

There are several reasons behind players not wanting to kill them such as the boss in question was once a friend or has a sad backstory, and more. It is indeed odd as the whole point of bosses is for players to kill them and proceed further but fans wish they did not have to kill a few of them.

Elden Ring Players Did Not Want to Kill Some Bosses

Elden Ring players didn't want to kill Malenia saying it did not make sense and she was just a protector.

Elden Ring player and Reddit user TherealAlpaca12 took to the Elden Ring subreddit and asked players to name a boss that they “really” did not want to kill. This post saw a lot of names in the comments, from Malenia to Morgott and players discussed their reasons why they did not want to kill them. One player said they did not want to Kill Malenia and gave a rather dramatic reason.

The player, PixelBoom called Malenia “sis” and said that her brother Miquella was kidnapped by Mohg when she fell unconscious after her fight with Radahn but the player took care of them, adding “No need to thank me.” For the context, Miquella was kidnapped by Mohg as he wanted to make him lord but despite how much blood he shared with Miquella, he did not respond to Mohg.

They further added, “You’re looking a little…here’s an Unalloyed gold needle that some Kindred of Rot had on them. Better use it to keep the Sealed god of Rot at bay.” A player replied to this saying, “I can fix her.” Some players also added that fighting with Malenia felt a “little forced” with another player saying that they’re avoiding fighting her again because of this same reason and are waiting to see what changes will the DLC bring.

User _TheBored_ said that they did not want to kill Morgott because he is “so cool. And loyal.”  The player added that Morgott deserved to be Elden Lord more than the Tarnished. Morgott is the son of Marika and Godfrey and was cursed being born as Omen but he still protected the Erdtree. Some players also mentioned that a way to hear Morgott would have been welcome.

Players also did not want to kill Morgott and sympathized with him.

Another player said that they did not want to fight Rennala. They added that she is a prisoner and has nothing to do with the player and he just came to steal from her but did not know that she is an optional boss. Rennala does not need to be defeated if players can beat Radahn and het Grwat Runes to go directly to Royal Capital, Leyndell.

One player mentioned Malenia saying that they wanted an option to take her and Miquella’s side and said that they are their favorite faction and they approve of their plans for the future of Lands Between. Another player said that they did not want to kill Alexander with one adding that they wanted to join Rykard instead of killing him. There are many other Elden Ring bosses players mentioned such as Loretta, Placidusax, Godfrey, and many more.

What do you think about players not wanting to kill these bosses in Elden Ring? Is there any boss you did not want to kill or did you enjoy slaying them all? Let us know in the comments below.
