Netflix’s The Witcher franchise will never be the same following the exit of Henry Cavill. Known for portraying the role of Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series and Superman in Man of Steel, Cavill lost both roles due to different reasons.
Another actor from Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel was recently announced as the newest cast member of The Witcher Season 4. Fans are indeed excited about the character but more than that, people are excited to see the actor, Laurence Fishburne, in action.
Laurence Fishburne Joins The Witcher Franchise After Henry Cavill’s Exit!
Henry Cavill and Laurence Fishburne portrayed the role of Superman and Perry White respectively in 2013’s Man of Steel. Being the editor-in-chief of The Daily Planet, Perry White supervises Clark Kent while he’s a reporter at The Daily Planet.
Cavill later on joined Netflix’s The Witcher franchise by portraying the lead character of Geralt of Rivia. With the recent exit of Cavill from the franchise, Laurence Fishburne was announced to have joined the fourth season of The Witcher by portraying a fan-favorite character. Fishburne will reportedly portray the character of Regis. Regis is a vampire of the higher order seen in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt video game and fans love the idea.

For those of the unversed, the character of Regis helps Geralt in finding Ciri in the game and is also a pretty significant part of the DLC Blood and Wine. There is no doubt that Laurence Fishburne will indeed prove to be a worthy cast member, and the world would have liked to see Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia meeting with Fishburne’s Regis.
Henry Cavill Shuts Down All Rumors of Joining House of the Dragon!
After leaving The Witcher franchise, Henry Cavill was heavily rumored to someday make an appearance in HBO’s House of the Dragon. In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, the actor confirmed that although he loves the world of Westeros, he wouldn’t be a part of it!
“To be fair, when I was watching House of the Dragon, I was like ‘I feel like a lot of these guys could make really good Witchers. I think it would be cool to be in Westeros, I really do. I don’t think there’s a place for me in there, though.”
Well, it is indeed a sorry affair that Henry Cavill had to leave The Witcher franchise but the world would have loved to watch Laurence Fishburne and Cavill reunite. The Witcher is currently available to stream on Netflix in the U.S.
