The brand new medieval city builder title, Manor Lords, is right now the talk of the town in the gaming world. Released into early access on April 26, 2024, this real-time tactical game by indie developer Slavic Magic has garnered a significant player base in this short span. The game features some unique game modes, like Rise to Prosperity, Restoring Peace, and many more.
However, despite having several interesting features, mods have always been an exciting aspect of any gaming title. And Manor Lords is not an exception either. A recent mod of this game showcases exactly that.
Shrek in the Town of Manor Lords
Recently, an X account named One Proud Bavarian shared a video of Shrek scaring everyone away from his swamp in Manor Lords. This is actually a mod of the famous animated fantasy character in the game.
This made my day today.
(Note: modding isn't officially supported yet but you can't deny the potential after seeing this) https://t.co/7QSndPk9iW

The official X handle of the game has retweeted the clip with some more information regarding modding in Manor Lords. As of now, modding is not officially supported in the game. However, seeing this incredible Shrek mod, even the company is astonished.
It has also stated that the modding capability in the game after this Shrek mod is undeniable. So, that means it might work as a teaser from the developers that a lot of new things are waiting for the fans who want to enjoy mods in the game.
Despite no official support for modding so far, the game does have some very light mods, which can be found on Nexus Mods. Most of the mods are focused on changing the crests. But there are gameplay-oriented mods as well, like a mod that lets you increase the Sawpit’s maximum log storage.
The VR Mod in Manor Lords
With such captivating gameplay, wouldn’t it be fun to enjoy the game in VR? Sadly, the game doesn’t support VR as of now. But thanks to Flat2VR. This community of developers and modders has given its all to make the dream of playing this city builder in VR a reality.
Wow I have no idea how it's done but I'm impressed it works https://t.co/G1W6l5oDcq

Recently, this community has released a mod in which you can enjoy the game in full VR. Flat2VR has stated that the game works perfectly in 6DOF VR with Praydog’s UEVR. It has also confirmed that the mod is based on M&K with Dameo, or Little Cities-like motion control, which helps players explore their villages and towns in the game.
As things stand, this mod renders a third-person view of the PC version of the game. Seeing this brilliance, Slavic Magic couldn’t hold itself from praising Flat2VR’s mod.
We hope Slavic Magic soon comes up with some official mods for its game, so the existing fun reaches a whole new level.
