Both of the great actors discussed a lot of things over almost an hour-long episode. They discussed their movies, and their views, while Robbie, especially shared her memories from when she was a TV star aspiring to make it big in Hollywood.

Neighbours was a TV show in which Margot Robbie played the character of Donna Freedman. It was a simple soap opera but it holds a significant importance to the Suicide Squad star. When Norton asked both the guests of his show, “Have you ever worked together?”

Both the actors exclaimed their emotions out together, saying “I Wish!”

To which the Bombshell star said on the episode of The Graham Norton Show,

“I first saw Cate long before we met. We’ve met since in events and things like that. But you did a speech in Acmi Center, Melbourne”

Robbie said referring to Cate Blanchett. Further stating,

“When I was working on a TV show, Neighbours. And you’ve always been my…. My idol, My acting idol. So I saw you do this speech”

She also stated how she felt about the actor when she witnessed her for the first time live. 

“You (Blanchett) were probably like 15 meters away but I remember thinking. I was just in awe and I was like, this is probably the closest I’ll ever get to Cate Blanchett. And now I’m right next to you.” 

Both the actors could be seen holding each other tight with excitement, happiness, and surprise when Robbie told the story.

It was when Robbie was 17 years old, and after repeatedly approaching Jan Russ, the show’s casting director, she was finally cast as Donna Freedman in the series Neighbours. The Australian actor made her first appearance on the episode that aired on June 2, 2008. The soap opera had The Wolf of Wall Street actor as a schoolgirl. 

At first, she was just a guest actor but soon became one of the main cast. Robbie played her role for two years until 2011. In the year 2022, when the show completed its 37 years, Margot Robbie was set to return as Freedman again.

Robbie was supposed to reprise her role along with other returning stars such as Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Guy Pearce, Delta Goodrum, Holly Valance, and Natalie Imbruglia.

Although the I, Tonya actor couldn’t make it to the set because of her tight schedule in the US, she appeared in scenes via video message and wished the characters of Toadie and Melanie for their wedding. 

Till now, Margot Robbie has starred alongside great actors such as Will Smith, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, and Leonardo DiCaprio and is also widely known to have been nominated two times for Academy Awards.

Robbie recently shattered the worldwide box office with her movie Barbie, which was launched alongside the Christopher Nolan epic Oppenheimer. The movie was directed by Greta Gerwig and made up to $1.18 billion globally.
