NME released the list of the top 40 biggest Christmas songs of the 21st century in the UK, as per November reports. Surprisingly, Mariah Carey’s 1994 song is number 40th on the list where Ariana Grande’s cover of Santa Tell Me became second. The Top 5 Biggest Christmas Songs in the UK
With December being the month of celebration and holidays, and marking the end of a year, we’re here with your favorite singers and their best Christmas songs. Although we recently celebrated Christmas, NME released the list of the top 40 biggest Christmas songs of the 21st century in the UK, as per reports from the middle of November 2023.
But let’s begin with the top five best Christmas songs and the singer who toppled everyone else on the list. Beginning with Michael Bublé‘s It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas topping the list, we have Ariana Grande in second position for her cover song Santa Tell Me.
Following Grande’s cover, there’s Lily Allen’s 2014 take of Keane‘s Somewhere Only We Know in third position. Further, in fourth position we have fan favorite Justin Bieber with his song Mistletoe, which is followed by Coldplay’s Christmas Lights in fifth position on the list of biggest Christmas songs of the 21st century.
Mariah Carey Stumbled Down to Last Position
Surprisingly, Mariah Carey‘s 1994 hit All I Want For Christmas is You, is somehow nowhere in the top 10 list. Listeners appear to have lost their interest in the song that perpetually maintained its position as one of the best Christmas songs, for decades, until now. As per NME’s list, Carey’s song unfortunately went down to the last position.

As per the list, The Darkness’ Christmas Time (Don’t Let The Bells End) closed the list of top 10 favorite songs, followed by other tracks that proved to be quite popular among listeners. Thus, the list featured Kylie Minogue’s cover of Santa Baby in 11th position, along with Ed Sheeran and Elton John’s Merry Christmas in 15th position.
Getting closer to the end of the list, as reported from the middle of November 2023, it featured Britney Spears‘ My Only Wish (This Year) in 26th position and Destiny’s Child‘s 8 Days Of Christmas came in at 32nd position. Meanwhile, the list ended with classic Christmas songs from Wham! and Mariah Carey in the last few positions.
