Mark Wahlberg has steadily cemented his spot in Hollywood as an A-list action star by delivering outstanding, captivating, and acclaimed performances. From playing an old-fashioned lover in classic rom-com movies to leaving fans awed by his sultry physique in action-packed films: he is ruling the silver screen with his charismatic on-screen presence.

In 2017 Wahlberg reprised his role as Cade Yeager in Michael Bay-spearheaded Transformers: The Last Knight, his last collaboration in the Transformers franchise. In an interview, he revealed the reason behind leaving the franchise starting, “It’s the last one, so I get my life back!.”

Mark Wahlberg took over the role of Cade Yeager in Transformers: Age of Extinction after actor Shia LaBeouf led the franchise as Sam Witwicky for Bay’s initial trilogy of Transformers action-packed film series. LaBeouf left the franchise after wrapping up its third installment Dark of the Moon, claiming, “I just don’t think right now there is anywhere to take Sam.”

Speaking about his reaction after reading the script of the film, Mark Wahlberg shared,

“I was pleasantly surprised, you want to do something different, and being this kind of “man on the run” adventure story is a nice departure from what we did before. It introduces new cool characters, and Cade’s got this great relationship with this smart, sophisticated English woman and that creates a lot of humor, and there’s a lot of new characters that are cool.”

“I’m always like everybody else, I just approach it as a piece of the puzzle where we’re all here to service Michael’s vision. It’s perfectly fine like that; I never look at it as more pressure or less pressure unless, of course, we’re telling a true story in a movie like Lone Survivor where you have real people depending on you to get it right and do them justice, so there’s no pressure now.”
