Kang the Conqueror was positioned to be the next great villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in the same way Thanos was for the Infinity Saga. However, in the wake of Jonathan Majors getting fired, the idea has been up in the air, as fans try to speculate who would be the next villain in the MCU.

While a slew of fans want Majors replaced, and another section of the fandom wants a new villain to take over from Kang altogether, a theory has come out to put Ravonna Renslayer at the center of this conversation, pushing for her to become the next big bad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ravonna Renslayer would be the perfect replacement for Kang the Conqueror

Renslayer has tormented the Fantastic Four and the Avengers by taking on the role of Kang the Conqueror in the comics, and her fate in the Loki series is also left a little nebulous, allowing for her to return in full force as the villain in the series.

The problem with this idea is that it would take a significant amount of build-up to set up Reveonna as a Thanos-level threat to the Avengers. Given that Disney will be focusing on quality over quantity after a disastrous year at the box office and the streaming platform, there are only so many opportunities to build up Renslayer as a legitimate threat to the Avengers, X-Men, and the Fantastic Four.

The character could make an appearance in multiversal films like Deadpool & Wolverine, or even The Fantastic Four, but will probably not be present in smaller projects like Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts.

The Infinity Saga had multiple villains taking orders from Thanos before the big man showed himself. Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki famously got his Chitauri army from Thanos. Lee Pace‘s Ronan the Accuser got the Power Stone from Thanos. Thanos appeared a few times in Odin’s vault and other places, but the first time we saw the character was when he appeared in his full might in Infinity War.

Similarly, if there has to be another villain in the Multiverse Saga, it needs to be shown as a puppet master to Kang, someone who has been running the show, manipulating Kang completely. Renslayer, if sufficiently beefed up, could play that role. Given that the final entry for this saga would be Avengers: Secret Wars, this antagonist could be the Beyonder, who was the antagonist in the original Secret Wars.
