Nonetheless, a recent interview featuring Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, and director Shawn Levy have left some fans perplexed. The topic of cameos—more especially, the potential for characters like Elektra, Mystique, and Storm to show up in Deadpool & Wolverine—was discussed during the Fandango interview.

While the trio remained tight-lipped about any potential cameos, Jackman’s reaction to the mention of Halle Berry’s Storm piqued fans’ interest. And they couldn’t help but notice Jackman’s hesitation and the hint of a smile that played on his lips, leading many to speculate that something fishy might be going on.

What Could Hugh Jackman’s Reactions Mean for Storm’s Appearance?

During their recent conversation with Fandango, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy talked about a broad spectrum of topics.

Along with talking about the upcoming flick, the trio also touched on other subjects. One such topic was the interesting cameo rumors that are still making the rounds on the internet regarding all the possible characters that could make an appearance. Naturally, the subject of Taylor Swift’s potential appearance as Dazzler also arose.

However, Levy merely stated the following in regards to confirming Dazzler or any other superheroes who might appear in the third Deadpool entry:

I think we’re going to go with avoidance [laughter] more than dishonesty.

Now, after talking about Dazzler, Fandango’s Jacqueline Coley tried to coax other cameo information. And so the conversation quickly veered toward cameos, with none of the three agreeing or disagreeing on the appearance of characters like Elektra, Mystique, or Storm (Halle Berry). However, Jackman’s hesitancy and fleeting smile caught the attention of fans when the latter was brought up.

In response, Levy stated cautiously in the same interview:

We come to this movie, I definitely come to this movie as a fan… a fan of the X-Men movies and the Deadpool movies.

Ryan Reynolds Broke the Silence on Disney Allowing Deadpool & Wolverine to Go ‘Hard R’

In the same Fandango interview, Ryan Reynolds expressed his astonishment that Disney permitted Deadpool & Wolverine to be R-rated. As it is, he is incredibly “proud” of them for this decision: 

I hope it doesn’t sound condescending, I’m really proud of them for doing this. I think it’s a huge step for them. I mean, it adds a whole other color to this kaleidoscopic wheel that is that company and the different people that they have been entertaining forever.

Comic book fans thought that since Disney was focusing on family entertainment, it might tone down the R-rating for the franchise, but director Shawn Levy and Reynolds were allowed to keep the raucous humor going. The actor went on:

I was surprised though, that they let us go as hard R, but very grateful. I mean there’s no other way to do it.

In addition to being the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to be released with an R rating at Disney, Deadpool & Wolverine marks Hugh Jackman’s much-anticipated return to playing his iconic X-Men role. Although Wolverine was killed in Logan, the actor promised fans that his portrayal of the X-Men character in Deadpool 3 would not alter the course of events in the adored 2017 film.
